About MSVA
Building a responsible African mining technology business.
Mine Safe View Africa (MSVA) is a South African mining technology and engineering solutions company focused on improving safety, operational visibility, equipment performance and decision-making across mining and heavy industrial environments.
Headquartered in Johannesburg, MSVA brings together mining, engineering and industrial experience with advanced technologies designed for demanding operating environments. We bridge the gap between emerging technology and practical mine-site requirements — combining mining-sector understanding, technology integration and a practical approach to implementation to help customers address genuine operational challenges. This is what we mean by mining in the age of intelligence.

Matimba Mahange
Chief Executive Officer
Matimba is a mining-engineering executive with more than two decades of leadership across the mining value chain. He began as a graduate engineer at AngloGold Ashanti and a process-control engineer at Sasol, held a process-engineering role with the BMW Group, then spent a decade at Joy Global as Director of Manufacturing and later Sales & Marketing for Africa. At Barloworld Equipment he served as Chief Operating Officer, then CEO of the South African business, and ultimately Executive Head of Mining for Southern Africa. A certified Lean Master, he pairs operational excellence and safety-by-design with a deep commitment to local industrialisation — and today chairs Harris Group Investments Holdings and leads JA Engineering Works. As MSVA's CEO he sets a strategy built on strong governance, local content and measurable value for clients.

Sphamandla Dlamini
Chief Operating Officer
Sphamandla is a technology and operations executive who designed enterprise systems for some of South Africa's largest institutions — Investec, Standard Bank, First National Bank and Vodacom — before leading businesses of his own. He is CEO of Ferrit Technology Africa (part of the Czech-headquartered Ferrit Global group) and founder-CEO of technology consultancy IQ Culture, and he chairs the IoT Industry Council, where he champions governance, ESG and the responsible adoption of connected technology across African industry. As MSVA's COO he turns mining-technology solutions into practical, well-governed on-site implementations — aligning safety, integration and operational intelligence to create lasting value for clients, partners and teams.

Jason Savage
Chairman
Jason is a global mining-industry leader with nearly four decades in underground and surface mining equipment. Over a 30-year career with Joy Global he rose from engineer to Managing Director for Africa — where he grew a ZAR-3-billion business, achieved zero LTI over two years and drove BEE certification and executive diversity — and then to President, Australasia. He went on to serve as Senior Vice-President, Underground at Komatsu Mining, holding global P&L accountability for a 5,000-person organisation across the Americas, Australasia, China, Europe and Africa, earning the Komatsu CEO Award for profitability while delivering world-class safety (0.08 LTIR). Today he is owner-director of Envizex and Phoenix Mining Innovations and an advisor to leading mining-technology firms. As MSVA's Chairman he brings elite operational governance, international OEM relationships and a relentless safety-and-value focus to the board.
